frequently asked questions

Do you offer custom packages?

Of course. If you have a certain budget, or want to customize anything, I would be happy to work on a custom quote for you.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I love shooting weddings outside of my home city. If your wedding is scheduled to take place within a reasonable driving distance from Edmonton, I only charge 2 nights of accommodation – the night before your wedding, and the night of. I do not charge for Kilometers. If your wedding requires flights and/or an extended stay (such as a Destination Wedding), then I am happy to discuss options and pricing with you.

Deposits and payments

A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to book your date. The remaining 50% of the balance is due two weeks before your wedding day. I am happy to discuss payment options with you if you prefer to make multiple instalments. Currently I accept email money transfers, all major credit cards, and Paypal.

Is there a contract?

Yes, a contract is required to book your date. Once you decide to move forward, simply fill out the contract and send your retainer.

What if our wedding is canceled?

If your wedding is canceled, your retainer is non-refundable. If any payments have been made outside of 2 weeks from your wedding day (excluding the retainer), they will be refunded.

Do you have backup equipment?

Are you insured?

Yes! You and I are both fully covered should anything happen.

Sneak Peeks

If you follow me on social media, you know how much I love to post sneak peeks. Typically within a few days after your wedding I will post an image for you. Feel free to tag yourself and share with friends and family.

When will we receive our pictures?

Once I download and backup your wedding, I will start the culling and editing process. You should receive your images in approximately 10-12 weeks.

Can our friends & family see our pictures?

Yes! I will upload your entire collection to a private online gallery. You can share this link with friends and family, and they can make prints or purchase high-resolution files from within the gallery.

WILL OUR DIGITAL FILES BE IN HIGH RESOLUTION?

Of course! You'll be able to make prints and enlargements from the digital files you download from your gallery.

How many images will we receive?

Since each wedding is unique, the number of images you receive will vary. I will give you nothing but the best, rather than a predetermined number of images. You will get all of the photos that aren’t duplicates, out of focus, or shots of you blinking, eating, etc.

What can we do with our images?

They are yours to do almost anything you wish, for example, printing copies or sharing on social media etc. I do ask that you do not edit any of your images. Applying filters or changing color to black & white, sepia etc. is a reflection of my work, and can have a negative effect on booking future clients. Photographs are also not to be published online or in print without my permission.

What will you do with our images?

Beautiful images like yours attract more lovely couples. I usually use a small selection of images on my website, blog, social media etc. Sometimes I submit real weddings to blogs or magazines, but I will contact you first, since most of these avenues like to get details and information about the bride and groom.

Do you backup our photos forever?

I strongly suggest that you back up your images to an external hard drive, or upload them to the cloud. I do keep images for a time, but due to space restrictions, I cannot guarantee I will have the images forever.

Albums & Printing

Some clients prefer to do their own wedding albums, but I have access to renowned companies and would love the chance to create one for you. I can also suggest printing labs that offer great products too. Please consider either an album, or prints (or both!) since photographs are meant to be held, touched, and passed on to your grandchildren.

Copyright & Crediting

Nathan Walker Photography retains the Copyright to your wedding photographs. If you decide to share your images on social media or a personal website, I would very much appreciate a credit, with a link to my social media and/or website.
